Interventionist – Autism - Floating (Internal Only)

Interventionists provide 1:1 support to children in home, school, and community based settings. The Floating Interventionists work with any student requiring support with the program and receive comprehensive training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as well as excellent supervision.  

The Autism Spectrum Program (ASP) provides support services to individuals ages 2-21 with an autism spectrum disorder. Services are provided in home, school, and community settings and target teaching essential skills including social communication, adaptive behavior, daily living and functional learning skills. The ASP also provides consultation and training services regarding autism and evidence based interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide substitute coverage for Interventionist staff due to staff absences, vacancies, additional support needs, etc
  • Provide 1:1 intensive, specialized instructional and behavioral treatment and support services to children with autism in school and community based settings
  • Using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, effectively implement treatment techniques
  • Implement identified behavior management techniques
  • Collect/record daily data effectively
  • Safely transport clients
  • Clinical documentation
  • Provide pager back up coverage for Services Coordinator when needed

Requirements:

  • 1 year's combination of experience, skills and/or education
  • 1 year's experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis services instruction and/or supporting children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Valid driver's License use of a personal vehicle
  • Ability to establish positive, therapeutic relationships with children while safely managing behavior
  • Solid oral/written communication skills

Structure:

  • Full time, 37.5 hours/week
  • This is a union position
  • This is a non-exempt position
  • This position is paid hourly, at $19.18/hour
