Sub - Arts Collective Engagement and Community Outreach Specialist

Participate in the Arts Collective activities while also reaching out to social services agencies to attract more artists. The ideal candidate will bring creative strategies to promote the Arts Collective and trouble-shoot barriers to participation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and distributes promotional material about the Arts Collective
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external agencies, programs and community spaces (including Treatment Court, Pathways Vermont and COTS) to identify artists interested in participating
  • Communicates with community as well as Howard Center staff and clients to increase client and staff participation in the Arts Collective
  • Develops rapport with participants
  • Identifies and mitigates barriers to participation. Reports at monthly planning meetings about outreach and barriers to participation
  • Participates in Arts Collective activities and events, including open studio, weekly community calls, field trips and art shows and lends support to those activities/events on a rotational basis with other Arts Collective staff. Transports clients as needed when it becomes safe to do so (i.e. post-covid environment).

Requirements:

  • A combination of skills, experience and/or training
  • Valid driver's license and transportation

Structure:

  • Substitute, hours will vary
  • $20/hr
