AWAKE OVERNIGHTS- Acute Residential Counselor Youth - Jarrett House:

Employees in this position may be eligible for up to $5,000 in grant-funded tuition or loan assistance.

$2,000 SIGN ON BONUS- Maintain a healthy living environment, providing supervision, modeling healthy interactions, and responding safely to escalated behavior, while working with at-risk children.

The Jarrett House is a crisis stabilization program specializing in trauma treatment and psychiatric care of children. The Jarrett House is a staff-secure residential home in Burlington serving Vermont children ages 5-13, who are experiencing an acute mental health emergency.

Responsibilities:

  • Awake overnight responsibilities mostly consist of general household tasks (laundry, cleaning, and general household upkeep) while the children sleep to maintain a healthy living environment
  • Provide care and comfort to children who may wake during the night
  • Coordinate/implement behavior plans
  • Assess/adjust the milieu to ensure proper supervision and crisis management
  • Communication and Documentation of treatment progress

Requirements:

  • A combination of experience, skills and/or education
  • Experience working with children with emotional/behavioral challenges
  • Valid driver's License and use of a personal vehicle

Structure:

  • Full time or Part-time Awake Overnights
  • Night owl? One part time position consists of Friday and Saturday evenings, 10:30pm-7:30am both nights.
  • Union
  • Non-exempt
  • Starting at $21.66 an hour, with a shift differential for overnight hours (12am- 8am)
