Program Director- First Call for Chittenden County

Leadership position within First Call for Chittenden County, Howard Center's 24/7 Crisis program.

The Program Director is the primary point of contact and has program-wide responsibilities for First Call for Chittenden County (24/7 crisis program). Responsibilities shared with other program leadership include: developing clinical competencies of staff aligning with best practice and client care; supporting system operations with an understanding of budget, contracts, compliance/regulations, and necessary performance outcomes.

As a senior leader, the program director maintains community stakeholder relationships and guides program policy to support the needs of clients, staff, and programs in our system of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads program operational functions, including hiring, scheduling, contract or compliance, outcomes, budget, policy, or program initiatives
  • Program and team development
  • Provides program and clinical supervision
  • Provides community-based trainings and maintains partnership liaison relations
  • Attends agency and community forums and committees
  • Participates in after-hours on-call and supervisory coverage

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher, with Vermont clinical licensure in good standing and ability to supervise others toward licensure
  • QMHP required within 6 months of hire
  • Driver's license and use of a personal vehicle
  • 5+ years combination of mental health and/or substance use direct experience
  • 3+years supervisory and management experience
  • A strong understanding of psychiatric risk assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, Vermont's mental health system of care and determining appropriate level of care
