SUB - Interventionist - Fay Honey Knopp School

Provide intensive, specialized behavioral treatment and support services 1:1 to a client who is sexualized, has experienced trauma and has emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental disabilities, in order to promote healthy and adaptive social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. 

Fay Honey Knopp is a licensed school providing a supportive and therapeutic educational environment to residents of Howard Center's Park Street Program. The Park Street Program is a residential treatment program in Rutland, VT specializing in therapy for adolescent males who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviors. Programming is family centered and trauma informed.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach essential communication skills, social skills, sexual wellness and safety, daily living skills, emotion and behavior regulation skills across various settings.  (residential milieu, academic setting, community, home)

  • Collaborate with team members (i.e. family/caregivers, clinical staff, educational staff, medical staff, other human service professionals) to contribute to the development and implementation of an effective individualized plan of care.

  • Provide specialized instruction to promote academic success

  • Complete daily documentation to assess progress in relation to treatment services provided that are clear, organized, timely and are in writing and/or shared verbally for effective coordination of care 

  • Provide adequate supervision to effectively implement treatment interventions, behavior management plans and specialized services as prescribed and adjust interventions based on needs of the client and the need for safety

  • Transport clients as necessary

  • Administer medication as needed

Requirements:

  • 1 year's combination of skills, experience and/or education

  • Valid driver's License and use of a personal vehicle

  • Ability to work outside normal business hours

Structure:

  • Schedule opportunities for weekday, evening, weekend and overnight hours
  • This is a non-exempt position
  • This position is paid hourly, at $18.37/hour
