Senior Staff Accountant

Howard Center's finance team is looking to add a Senior Staff Accountant.  This role will be responsible for the Agency's accounting operations in accordance with U.S. GAAP and assist in preparing, reviewing and maintaining financial statements. This position will also support the monthly close process, perform account reconciliations, and drive process improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the monthly close process
  • Reviews,analyzes and reconciles general ledger accounts
  • Prepares monthly closing journal entries
  • Processes AP batches & payments
  • Makes recommendations to improve/strengthen processes & internal controls
  • Responds to questions from other team members/agency staff & research as needed
  • Lead department projects
  • Responsible for reviewing, and approving AP & Journal entry batches
  • Assists in preparation of year-end audit materials
  • Supports other finance functions as needed

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working with accounting software and MS Office suite
