Senior Clinician - Baird School- INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY (Baird School):

A Senior Clinician is a school contracted position within the Baird School.  The school serves children with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.  The role of the Senior Clinician is responsible for providing a clinical presence for the program and within the clinical team.  Senior Clinician is trained to work across all client populations regardless of age and diagnosis.  Senior Clinician is well versed in mental health diagnosis, treatment and behavior interventions, and social emotional learning. 


  • Develop and implement treatment plans for students experiencing significant emotional/behavioral/environmental challenges 
  • Provide services in school, home and community settings
  • Provide services/support at multiple levels including: individual, family, group, staff/team, classroom and school community
  • Provide supportive counseling and collateral contact to students and families in order to facilitate success in reaching treatment goals
  • Conduct clinical assessments and diagnosis
  • Provide crisis prevention and intervention
  • Educate/Consult with school staff about mental health issues, poverty, marginalization and disenfranchisement
  • Clinical documentation and record keeping in compliance with Agency requirements
  • Participate and facilitate trainings and workshops to further professional development
  • Working knowledge of broad array of programs, regulations, and professional disciplines
  • Provide clinical support and guidance to interns 
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues regarding clinical assessments, treatment plans, ICMP's, and trimester write ups


  • Must be employed within Baird School - Internal applicants only
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Valid driver's License, and use of a personal vehicle
  • VT Clinical License or License Eligible and on the Roster of Non-Licensed, Non-Certified Psychotherapists (See Licensing Requirement Notice Below)
  • Minimum of one year of experience working in mental health 
  • Ability to make critical decisions with high liability 
  • Ability to work in a high stress environment, prioritize multiple tasks and navigate the system of care 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical License

Licensing Requirement Notice:

Vermont regulation mandates that if you do not hold a valid clinical license then you must added to the Roster of Nonlicensed & Noncertified Psychotherapists before you can be hired for work in this position. If you are not yet on the Roster, please begin the process immediately to avoid delay in hiring. Note this process may take 3-5 days for in-state applications and up to several weeks for out-of-state applications. Instructions can be found on the website for the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation.

  • Salary starting at $53,562.53 (Non-Licensed), $55,913.74 (Licensed)
