Security Officer

Opportunity to work in an award-winning addiction program, addressing the opioid epidemic in Vermont. Perform security patrols at the Chittenden Clinic to ensure a safe environment for patients, employees and visitors.  Part time, 20 hrs/wk.

The Chittenden Clinic is one of the largest medication treatment programs for opioid use disorder in the country, serving approximately 1000 patients. Ideal candidates can assess/evaluate situations effectively and have solid active listening skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot
  • Monitor the premises using security cameras
  • Watch for irregular/unusual conditions that may create safety hazards
  • Establish rapport with patients and remind them of clinic policy
  • Provide assistance to patients, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Use judgement to respond to problems and request additional assistance following established guidelines
  • Investigate and document accidents, incidents and suspicious activity

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform duties outdoors, year round
  • Ability to assess/evaluate situations effectively and use good judgement when responding
  • Solid communication skills

Structure:

  • Part time, 20 hrs/wk
  • Non-exempt
  • Starting at $21.40 an hour
