Sub - Peer Specialist:

Provide support services to adults in psychiatric crisis through connection and relationship building. A Peer Specialist's approach is guided by personal experience and recovery from mental health and/or substance misuse.

Peer Specialists work in a variety of settings, including clients' homes and hospital settings, both inpatient and emergency rooms and via telehealth. Peer Specialists also work with the community-based mobile crisis co-response team responding to crisis in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide community-based peer specialist support services
  • Connect with individuals experiencing difficult situations and/or crisis
  • Advocate for clients
  • Respond to crisis including with mobile crisis response team
  • Complete administrative tasks

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Personal experience with mental illness or with substance misuse recovery

Structure:

    • Hours vary weekly
    • Pay rate is $20.00 an hour
