Residential Counselor - Lakeview - Overnight - $1,000 Sign on Bonus

Establish and maintain a therapeutic and stable permanent residential housing environment for adults living with mental health challenges and a history of homelessness.  Develop and implement treatment plans and teach independent living skills. 

Lakeview is a long term recovery based Howard Center group home for 16 adults courageously living with mental health challenges.  Our staff strives to create a safe and supportive home setting.  Many of our residents have lived together for decades, and several of our dedicated team members have worked at Lakeview for decades as well. Our team is ready to welcome a reliable, dedicated, and creative Residential Counselor. 

Responsibilities:

  • Remain awake during the overnight hours
  • Develop healthy, therapeutic relationships with residents
  • Coordinate/implement behavior plans
  • Assess/adjust the milieu to ensure proper supervision and crisis management
  • Communication and Documentation of treatment progress

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing major mental illness and substance use issues.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations, work in a team environment and maintain respectful relationships is essential

Structure:

  • Full-time (37.5 hours/week).  Overnight position
  • Non-exempt
  • This is a union position
  • This is a benefits eligible position
  • Pay rate is $18.37/hour plus shift differentials
  • Available schedules: Th-Fr-Sa-Su overnights from 11:30pm-8:30am AND Mo-Tu-We-Th overnights from 11:30pm-8:30am
