Registered Nurse - Adult Crisis Stabilization

Full time Registered Nurse position supporting our crisis stabilization program in Burlington. Adult Crisis Stabilization is a licensed therapeutic residence which serves community members experiencing a psychiatric crisis. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to screen referrals, performs intake assessments, reconciles medication orders from internal and external providers, monitors documentation for accuracy and compliance, and helps to coordinate the medical needs of clients in the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete nursing assessments, contribute to interdisciplinary care planning, and evaluate progress to ensure effective outcomes
  • Reconcile medications, obtain orders, and oversee medical documentation to ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures as well as state regulations
  • Provide medication and health care education to clinicians and staff
  • Delegate medication administration to staff
  • Provide support to psychiatry providers, including medication refill requests and prior authorizations
  • Collaborate with health care providers, case managers, and residential staff to ensure client's care needs are met
  • Contribute to the development of protocols, procedures, staff training and client education
  • Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and other committees as related to promoting client's health and wellbeing.
  • May provide some direct care, including injections and/or phlebotomy, however the nurse is not the primary caregiver in any program
  • Provide consultation to program leaders related to infection prevention and control

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree
  • State of Vermont License: Registered Nurse
  • Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle
  • One year of nursing experience in psychiatry and/or substance use preferred
  • Capable in the use of applicable computer software including electronic medical records and basic Microsoft products.

Structure:

  • Full time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Exempt
  • AFSCME Union
  • Annual salary starting at $67,005.55
  • We offer a competitive salary commensurate to experience
  • This position offers the opportunity for additional compensation through On-Call coverage
