Career Coach

Career Coaches support clients who are eligible for developmental services and transitioning into employment in their final year of high school. This position supports clients/interns in 3 internship opportunities within a host business site that allows them to gain experience and valuable work skills. A successful candidate is able to develop and maintain internship opportunities through close communication with department managers, provide individualized training and support to interns based on their needs, work and communicate well with a variety of program partners, and assist job seekers with networking and outreach to potential employers/businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized skills and job training with interns in their internships
  • Develop, maintain and evaluate internships within the host business
  • Establish strong communication within the team and with department managers
  • Provide information and insight during team meetings such as Employment Planning meetings, developmental services meetings and family meetings
  • Job development and networking with businesses to assist interns with securing employment

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years' experience in human services or combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills has been acquired
  • Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle

Structure:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Starting pay rate is $21.24 per hour
  • Non-exempt position; Union Position
  • We offer a competitive salary commensurate to experience
