Nursing Supervisor

The Nursing Supervisor provides direction and support to a team of 3 registered nurses and one medical assistant in our Developmental Services (DS) programs. Nurses in our Developmental Services programs at Howard Center provide direct and indirect care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Nursing Supervisor oversees daily operations and schedules, plans for nursing services, and supports RN’s and MA’s to ensure high quality services are provided in accordance with regulations and standards of practice. Experience working with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of daily nursing operations - scheduling, supervision, performance evaluation, recruitment and hiring
  • Participates in program development and quality improvement
  • Provides coverage and back-up support to DS nursing team as needed
  • Serves as back-up to one other Nursing Supervisor (who oversees nurses in the adult mental health programs) as needed
  • Participates in evening/weekend on-call support for residential programs as part of a team rotation
  • Audits documentation of nursing services and records to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and agency standards
  • Conducts nursing team meetings and group supervisions

Requirements:

  • Unencumbered Registered Nurse license, Vermont license eligible
  • Associates Degree
  • Three years of experience in nursing
  • One year of experience supervising staff or in a leadership role preferred

Structure:

  • Full Time
  • Exempt
  • Salary starting at $85,203
