Nurse Educator

Seeking an experienced licensed registered nurse to join the medical team at the Chittenden Clinic. Function in the intersecting roles of change agent, mentor, and facilitator of learning, drawing on adult learning theories and evidence-based practice to transform clinical nursing practice. This role involves identifying staff training needs, developing curriculum, and implementing tailored educational programs, including hands-on training sessions.

The Chittenden Clinic is one of the largest medication treatment programs for opioid use disorder in the country, serving approximately 1000 patients. Our program and its staff have been recognized regionally and nationally for outstanding performance, high-quality healthcare services, and a patient-centered approach.


  • Coordinate and oversee orientation for newly hired nurses
  • Coordinate opportunities for professional development for nursing staff
  • Develop, maintain, and revise annual nursing competency content to reflect changes in practice and policies
  • Provide mentoring and clinical education for nursing staff, nursing students, and direct support staff
  • Provide direct nursing care as needed and provide back-up coverage for nursing team


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Unencumbered Registered Nurse license, Vermont license eligible
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
  • Experience working in opioid and/or other substance use disorder treatment programs, treating mental health disorders, or experience as a nurse educator

  • Exempt
  • Starting at $68,850
  • We offer a competitive salary commensurate to experience
