Director of Information Management:

Support Howard Center's mission and create a competitive advantage for the organization within a changing health care environment by developing, managing, and leading the Information Management and Health Information department and supporting compliance functions of the Agency. 

Howard Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Burlington, VT with a history dating back to 1865. Our staff of 1,500 support to more than 19,000 people each year in over 60 locations throughout Vermont. We serve children, adults, families, and communities in a range of settings with a broad array of services for mental health, developmental, and substance use needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an information management operations strategy, plan and budget in accordance with the Agency's strategic plan, senior management, industry standards, and designated agency requirements
  • Lead the IM department in developing and sustaining an analytics infrastructure and support foundation to optimize our EHR systems, ensuring that high quality data is readily available to appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead the activities of the Information Management department staff including hiring, training and supporting an engaged and motivated team
  • Ensure client health records and related activity and management comply with all Agency and regulatory standards and meet the clinical and operational needs and standards

Requirements:

  • Prior management/leadership experience in IT/IS/IM department (or significant section of large IS department) in a healthcare or nonprofit organization. 
  • Knowledge of data/analytics technology and processes; Understanding of internal and external reporting requirements; Ability to understand potential of data use
  • Experience in project Management, development, training, and ongoing supervision of staff
  • Clinical and clinical leadership desired
  • Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid regulations desired

Structure:

  • Full time
  • Exempt
  • Starting at $99,529
  • We offer a competitive salary commensurate to experience
