Crisis Clinician- Mental Health Urgent Care

Join a multi-disciplinary team in the new Mental Health Urgent Care. Mental Health Urgent Care is a therapeutic alternative to the emergency department. Join this innovative team and bring a new approach to meeting the needs of our community in collaboration with Pathways Vermont and Community Health Centers.

Responsibilities:

Provides in-person assessment and intervention services to adults identified as being in mental health crisis, either self-defined or reliably reported

    • Performs mental health status exam, risk assessment and substance abuse screening
    • Determines a diagnosis to support a level of care disposition
    • Navigates mental health system of care and make referrals to appropriate supports
    • Coordinates follow up with providers and other supports; works closely with community partners
    • Completes clinical documentation in Electronic Health Record and other documentation/record keeping in accordance with agency requirements
    • Independently use approved de-escalation training (such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention or Therapeutic Options) to maintain a safe environment and safely manage behavior

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or mental health field
  • VT Clinical License or License Eligible and on the Roster of Non-Licensed, Non-Certified Psychotherapists (See Licensing Requirement Notice Below)
  • QMHP credential required after 6 months of employment
  • Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle
  • Experience in making and prioritizing critical decisions
  • Experience in navigating the mental health system of care for children and adults

Licensing Requirement Notice:

Vermont regulation mandates that if you do not hold a valid clinical license then you must be added to the Roster of Non-licensed & Noncertified Psychotherapists before you can be hired for work in this position. If you are not yet on the Roster, please begin the process immediately to avoid delay in hiring. Note this process may take 3-5 days for in-state applications and up to several weeks for out-of-state applications. Instructions can be found on the website for the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation.

Structure:

  • Full time (37.5 hours)
  • Monday - Friday 8:30am -4:00pm or 10:00am-5:30pm
  • AFSCME Union
  • Annual salary starting at $61,523.00 (non-licensed) or $64,016.85 (licensed)
  • We offer a competitive salary commensurate to experience
