Clinician- Early Childhood Mental Health and Perinatal Support Services

The Early Childhood Program offers home-based parenting education, supportive counseling for children and families, consultation, advocacy, and case management. The Program provides training, consultation, and education to caregivers and providers who support young children and families.

Perinatal Support Services (PSS) provides therapy to individuals and their partners who are seeking support during pregnancy through the first year following birth. Individuals may be experiencing symptoms of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). Services include screenings, consultation, education, and in-home, office-based or telehealth therapy. Additional training will be provided through Postpartum Support International.

This position offers an opportunity to have a mixed caseload of clients from the Early Childhood Program and our Perinatal Support Services. Weekly supervision is offered.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams supporting children at risk of abuse, neglect, or losing their educational/childcare placement due to extreme behaviors.
  • Provide treatment and care coordination for both PSS and ECP clients. This may include early evening appointments as needed.
  • Provide on-site consultation to early education providers in their classroom settings.
  • Provide in home and community-based work to children and their families.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, monitor, and evaluate effectiveness of services.
  • Provide crisis prevention and intervention.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or mental health field.
  • Experience working with youth with emotional/behavioral challenges.
  • Strong interest in perinatal mental health. Experience preferred, but will train.
  • A Clinical License preferred OR on the Roster of Non-Licensed & Noncertified Psychotherapists (See Licensing Requirement Notice below).
  • Valid driver's License and use of a personal vehicle.

Licensing Requirement Notice:

Vermont regulation mandates that if you do not hold a valid license then you must be on the Roster of Nonlicensed & Noncertified Psychotherapists before you can be hired for work in this position. If you are not yet on the Roster, please begin the process immediately to avoid delay in hiring. Note this process may take 3-5 days for in-state applications and up to several weeks for out-of-state applications. Instructions can be found on the website for the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation.

  • Full time (37.5 hours)

  • Annual salary starting at $56,185.38 (Non-Licensed) $60,062.18 (Licensed), pro-rated for part-time
