Clinician - Children's Outpatient and PCIT:

Provide services at the Howard Center's clinic and the Winooski Office. Candidates are trauma-informed, flexible, competent clinical writers, able to navigate technology, while exhibiting professionalism in a team environment.  You will also receive the benefit of training in cutting edge therapy protocols!

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is identified as one of the most effective evidence-based protocols for families with young children, which consists of live in-the-moment coaching for adult caregivers as they interact with their child.  PCIT is a growing and expanding therapy in Vermont and around the country.

You will receive a full year of training by a Howard Center PCIT trainer. This includes over 40 hours of foundational training; in-person consultation; video review and support to obtain PCIT certification. Upon certification, clinicians will have additional opportunities to grow their skills through participation in the larger International PCIT network. 


  • Weekly group supervision with PCIT team, and team consultation
  • Counseling and therapy in school and clinic settings
  • Treatment Planning
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Clinical Documentation


  • Master's Degree
  • VT Clinical License or License Eligible and on the roster of Non-licensed and Non-certified psychotherapists
  • 2-3 years' experience providing counseling

Licensing Requirement Notice:

Vermont regulation mandates that if you do not hold a valid license required for this position then you must be on the Roster of Non-licensed & Noncertified Psychotherapists before you can be hired for work in this position. If you are not yet on the Roster, please begin the process immediately to avoid delay in hiring. Note this process may take 3-5 days for in-state applications and up to several weeks for out-of-state applications.   • Annual salary of $46,644.00 ($48,691.50 with clinical license)
  • Exempt position
