Acute Residential Counselor Adult 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop healthy therapeutic relationships with adult residents
  • Manage, assess and adjust the social and physical environments to ensure appropriate supervision and crisis management
  • Work with residents in assessment, care coordination and as a positive role model to assist in increasing coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and wellness plans
  • Support residents in creating and following safety plans and crisis plans
  • Assist residents with de-escalation and conflict mediation
  • Assist with program operations, staff training, and resident daily living functions, such as meal/menu preparation, household maintenance/organization and personal care
  • Provide support needed for safety in the community and/ or worksites
  • Conduct overall health monitoring and medication administration and/or oversight
  • Complete training and documentation as required by program

Requirements:

  • Two years of experience working with individuals experiencing major mental illness or a combination of experiences, skills and education.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations, work in a team environment and maintain respectful relationships is essential
  • Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle
