Acute Residential Counselor Adult - Crisis Stabilization:

Maintain a stable environment for adults with mental health and/or substance use challenges. This is a full-time position that works at Assist, a hospital diversion program that supports adults having a mental health crisis. This is a unique opportunity to gain a broad level of experience in the fields of substance use and mental health.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supportive counseling, medication management, and crisis intervention
  • Help residents strengthen coping and symptom management skills
  • Maintain the overall functioning and cleanliness of the programs
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals
  • Provide short-term case management and referrals to appropriate levels of care
  • Facilitate groups
  • Administer medication

Requirements:

  • One year of experience in the social service field
  • Valid driver's License and use of a personal vehicle
  • Ability to work after hours, holidays, and overnight shifts, flexibility in willingness to cover urgent/emergency coverage shifts and callouts

Structure:

  • Full-time (40 hours)
  • Non-exempt
  • AFSCME Union
  • Starting at $22.30 an hour with shift differential
