Director of Crisis Services

The Director of Crisis Services provides visionary senior leadership, innovative services, and compassionate care to those we serve. They also provide daily and strategic oversight of Howard Center’s continuum of crisis and outreach programs. The Crisis Services Director enhances the work of the agency by implementing best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and providing training and support to staff, ensuring that all crisis intervention services meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Embraces a mission-driven organization that values community connection, outreach, and staff wellness.
  • Supervises and leads a talented multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, peers, care managers and support staff who provide timely and effective crisis intervention
  • Promotes values of respect, inclusion, diversity and the de-stigmatization of mental health and substance use disorders
  • Maintains public relations, maintaining updated outreach and marketing materials
  • Upholds a culture of quality assurance and process improvement in crisis work ensuring regular data collection, defining outcome measurements, and internal and external reporting
  • Represents the agency at state meetings and various venues, actively engaging in agency, local and statewide forums on a range of mental health issues as well as participating in legislative and grant activities and training opportunities related to crisis services

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Five years’ experience in related field
  • Three years of supervisory and management experience
  • Clinical Licensure required; Vermont license eligible
  • Ability to supervise others toward licensure preferred
  • QMHP credential required within 6 months of hire
  • Valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle

Structure:

  • Full time (37.5 hours)
  • Exempt
